How to reverse an android update

I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III. I recently downloaded an update that took me from Android 4.0.1 to 4.2.1. It has slowed down my phone and it does not recharge properly. Is there a way to reverse this update?

Back everything up and factory reset your phone. You can still stay on Jellybean and your phone will run much faster.
