How to set ringtone to to only ring from 5pm through 7am

Should be easy... I only want the phone ringtones to sound from 5pm to 7am and all other times silent.

Am I overlooking the most obvious???

Settings-Blocking Mode-turn on and check "Block incoming calls" and set the time for your desired silent period.

At least that's what I have on mine, GM-900T1 w/4.4.2

hmm.. I am on Android 5.0 and there appears to be no blocking mode. bummer..

It's probably there in some form but called something else. Nobody said this stuff has to be intuitive.

It is under sound and notification, scroll down to notification, Do not disturb.
Just set the times you do not want to be disturbed.

Worst case, us a macro to do that for you.

MacroDroid has a trigger that can do that.
Will take two macros, one to tell it to mute, and the 2nd to tell it to unmute.

I also like it for when I'm going somewhere and I need a quick mute for say 30 minutes or so. I am notorious for forgetting to turn my ringer back on. you swipe to the left, select the length of mute and click mute and it does it!
