How to stop autosave in Whatsapp

I am using Galaxy Grand and a recent Whatsapp version 2.11.12 ... whats annoying is that all media files are saved to your album on the device and you can not change that.
The option available is to stop Automatically saving the media files. But it is not a good solution.

Another thing, now if you forwarded a media file it is again saved to your device, ending up with more than one copy of the same file ....

I think media files are stored there because all media consumption apps (movies, audio, books, magazines, etc) are programmed to look at the same folder so if you decide to use multiple apps they can all work from the same media file.
