Hello, my friend's LG Q7+ insists on sending out receipts to let anybody who's texted her know whether she has seen their SMS messages. I think this is a heck of a privacy flaw, especially if somebody really pushy and stalky is texting you.
Sadly, when I go into Settings/Apps/Messaging, I can't find any option for turning this feature off.
I believe T-Mobile is her carrier. Just mentioning that in case T-Mobile's software is different in any way.
Can anybody tell me how to turn this function off for her? I was able to do so on my Samsung, and I have a hard time believing this option doesn't exist for her phone.
In a worst-case, perhaps she could fix the problem by switching to a different SMS messaging app? If yes, what app do y'all recommend? And would that solve the problem, or would "Messaging" still be sitting there sending out read receipts even though she's using a different app to read and respond to messages?
Can "Messaging" be disallowed from doing so by having its permissions altered?
Thanks!
