Apps How to stop the emulator in XP

The emulator starts and runs fine. But when I try to close it, it freezes. I cannot stop it from ProcessExplorer and cannot kill it from the process list that shows after CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Even when I try to shut XP down, the pc will not shut off because it hangs on closing the emulator.

OK, I just found out that the emulator can close normally and without freezing if I start it with the option -noaudio. I thought that this problem only manifests when running emulator in certain flavours of Linux. But apparently it also does in some WindowsXP pro installs.
