Help How to switch off internet radios?

I use my phone as a audio player for comuting and during this time internet connection is not required, however I'd still like to receive calls.

Which radios would I need to disable to do this and is there a one click shortcut?

This should do the trick:
Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Use only 2G networks

There's a widget called Toggle Data Widget which I think is what you're looking for, though as it doesn't toggle this setting, I don't understand how it works!

Selecting 2G only definitely does not disable mobile data. It just makes it slower.

Quick Settings application has a toggle for turning on and off mobile data. I use it in conjunction with the 2G only settings for preserving battery power when I'm not using mobile data.

I have experienced problems, though whether it's with the quick settings or repeatedly toggling between 2/3G - fairly often I'll have to restart the phone to re-enable data. Perhaps one should be done before the other, I may investigate tomorrow.

But yeh, Quick Settings has the toggle you're looking for (along which a bunch of other handy options)

Thanks for the correction!
Quick settings is really useful thanks - I'd been wondering if there was a way to change screen brightness from the status bar.

It's strange this wasn't included as standard.

On the HTC Hero pressing the power button brings up silent mode, airplane mode and power off like the Nexus One, but also switch internet radios off.

This would have been a useful addition for the Nexus One also.

Double post somehow - is there a way to delete them?..
So, err... nice weather lately eh...

Once you go to edit your post, there should be a lil tickbox somewhere....

edit: I stand corrected. I know for a fact it used to be there!
