How to tether?

I'm a newbe to both the forum and smart phone. I recently purchase a Samsung Fascinate and need to learn, very quickly, how to tether my phone to my laptop. Can someone help this oldman?
 
OK I see several people have checked out this post but no response. Isn't there anyone who can provide some guidance on how to tether my Fascinate to my laptop?
 
menu-settings-wireless & networks- tethering-USB tethering on your phone. if you are using vista, w7, or linux, just plug your phone and do the above, if you are using a mac then it wont work. If you are using xp you are going to have to download the drivers from google, so just press help under USB tethering and it will take you to them, then install them. This only works with android 2.2 and above, I dont know what version the fascinate has though.
