how to toggle to use edge only

is there a way to toggle or even an app to use edge only? i have the htc aria, and can't seem to be able to select network. it's greyed out, and not sure why.

it's my first android..so newbie questions..

You should be able to go into settings, select wireless & networks, scroll down and select mobile networks. There you should be able to select whether you want to use 3g or 2g.

that's the weird thing, i can't, it's greyed out..do i need admin rights? it's not selectable...

I forgot you're on AT&T. I'm not too familiar with the Aria. Maybe AT&T has blocked that option. I can definitely look into it for you.

Both of y'all should have waited until the galaxy s came out. Lol. Sorry had to say it.

@judicious I'm still looking. Nothing so far though. May have to go to AT&T store and test one out myself.

really to just converse battery..

ok that makes sense

but the battery on it is good enough to where you would need to really "conserve" it. using it pretty often i get enough battery for a day and a half
