i have VSW and i want to trade my phone with another person. how can we do this with out being charged buy VSW for early termination or something?

Is the other person also on Verizon? Are they both Android's? Not that it matters entirely what kind of phone it is... I've switched phones on my plan in the middle of a contract with absolutely no problem at all; you don't even have to talk to anybody at Verizon, just activate the new phone on your plan and tell it which line you want it on (even easier if you only have the one line).

There is no charge for switching phones, and adding or dropping a data plan is also possible at any time. The only thing you probably won't be able to do is get insurance on the phone, given that they can't vouch for the quality of it.

Iirc you don't have to do anything special with the old phone. Just turn it off, and dial *228 from the 'new' phone. Once that phone is activated, your friend should be clear to turn the other phone back on and activate it on his or her plan in the same way (given that they're on Verizon of course).

so we dont need a computer we just need our phones

Lol, you must be new to the whole 'cell phone' landscape.

Just take the phone you want to activate, log in to your account and click on activate a phone or something along those lines...enter the MEID # and then you dial *228 from the phone after that's done and it should program itself. If you're just trading phones, the other person should be able to do that as well. Just don't report the phones missing or anything...Verizon will make the phone unusable by other Verizon users.

You'll need to call Customer Service to do a straight swap since one phone cannot be active on two accounts at once. They will put a dummy phone on the first account to free up one of the lines, then swap phones for you. Much easier.
