I've got a Galaxy Ace GT-5830i and I need to transfer data to the SIM card to use in my new phone, a Galaxy Fame. I've copied the contacts but I need to copy my text messages, logs etc. Also, I've bought books on Google Play that I would like to keep.

Any idiot proof answers would be appreciated please.

Many Thanks

Hello!

I think you mean SD card? SIMS can backup contacts but I don't think much else. When you make a contact on your phone and you're signed into Google, contacts should be backed up onto your Google account.

For texts I know you can use an app called SMS BACKUP +. It backs up your texts onto a Gmail folder so you can transfer them to another phone that way. :)

For apps, I use mybackup root, there are also more options but this should work just fine.

When you backup, a folder named "rerware" will be made somewhere on your internal sd, or ext_sd. Just connect your phone to your computer and then copy the folder. Or you can just swap the microsd into your new phone. :)

I'm not 100% sure about books, but knowing Google, you should be able to download the same book onto your new phone. There also should be an ebook file on your sd if that's where it's stored. So you can just copy it I guess.

Good luck! :D
