How to transfer files from Windows 10 to Galaxy S7 Edge

I have my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smart phone connected to my PC, Windows 10 using the USB cable that came with the phone. My computer recognizes the smart phone, but the PC does not display any folders nor does it allow me to export/transfer any files into the smart phone. What am I doing wrong? How do I transfer files with this setup?

Thanks

On the phone, pull down the notification shade. You will see a notice about connected charging via usb. Press that. It will take you to a menu where you can change connection mode. Set it to MTP.

chanchan05 I have a similar problem with my Moto X Pure edition. I used to be able to use the pull down menu to allow connection to a computer for file transfer as you suggested to Bunky F Oly, but when I do that now, the box where you select file transfer doesn't show up and I can't find any way to restore it. Can you help me, PLEASE? Thank You.
