How to transfer music files.

gwd

Newbie
Bought an old CD last week and wanting to copy to my Galaxy6.

The files are CDA and although I've transfered to the above they don't appear to play.
I've read somewhere that they don't contain any music files only where to find them ?
The CD is only Wurlitzer Organ music so its not as though I breaking the law with the Top Twenty stuff.

Is there any software that I could use or purchase to make this work ?

I've used Iplayer to open the CD but cannot see how to get them to my Galaxy6 or Tab S.

Any help

CDA files don't contain any music. You need to rip the CD with a computer and make it into something the phone can play, like MP3. Windows Media Player should work, provided you do music as MP3.

Thanks for the help.

Using "Windows Media Player" all morning without success but not sure what I'm doing.
Will give it another try tomorrow.
When I use "Iplayer" I can see the name of the tracks as opposed to Track number.

Try DBpoweramp CDripper, that might be easier.

It's a 21 day trial, but if you're only doing one CD it should be long enough. It should give a folder with the CD's songs as MP3s, all correctly named and tagged, then copy that to your phone.

Thanks Mikedt, will give that a try today.

Why do they mess about with various file formats ?
I can understand the security of copying etc but this CD is 8 years old and cost me £1.
Hardly a threat to the performer ?

who can ensure that the music is not lost from phone after transfer is completed ?
If the transfer went correctly and completely, without error. Then no music should be lost, same with photos, videos, etc. If it is subsequently losing music, then there's very likely a problem, like a fake SD card or something.
