how to transfer photos from phone to sd card

How do I transfer the photos on my phone to onto a mini sd card. I got a new phone and must give back the old one. don't want to release the old one until I get my pictures off the phone.

Easiest way is to install a file manager from the Play Store (I use one called File Manager).

Photos are stored in /DCIM/camera in stock Android - if it's different on your phone, you could use the File Manager's search facility (search for *.mpg) to find where they're stored.
