How to update Browser on an old ViewSonic Viewpoint 7

Hello everyone,

A while ago I was given a used ViewSonic Viewpoint 7 Smartphone/Tablet thing (Model VS13761).

I have never used a tablet before and am a bit of a greenhorn when it comes to things like that.

Anyway, I inserted my SIM and that all works fine. However I cannot access all of the internet, for example book an Airbnb etc., which I actually urgently need to do. (I am going abroad and my smartphone just broke as well...).
At some point a message popped up that the browser couldn't be accessed and needed to be updated.

HOW DO I DO THAT?

Thanks for any reply!

If the browser you have on that tablet is available through the Play Store you should be able to update it from there. Just open the Play Store app, go to "my apps" (look for a button composed of 3 horizontal bars, should be near the top, press that and you should get the option) and check for updates.

If there is no update, or the browser isn't in the play store (i.e. it's one of Viewsonic's own) then find another browser in the play store and install that instead. Take your pick, there are plenty of them, or stick to a familiar name (Chrome, Firefox, etc) if you prefer. (Just don't install anything from Cheetah Mobile, since their apps are pure spyware).
