Help How to use camera without enabling microphone

I have an S7 Edge phone (Android 6.0.1) and want to use the camera, however, when trying to use it the message "Unable to open Camera. Tap SETTINGS, go to App Info > Permissions, then allow the following permissions and try again: Microphone" is shown.

The microphone is turned off as I don't want to use it. Why do I have to turn on the microphone to use the camera? I'd be grateful if anyone could help me sort this out.

Because if you want to record videos, the microphone should be turned on to record audio. Since the camera app doesn't have a separate video mode (just one viewfinder with 2 buttons for capture and record), it needs to be turned on.

Thank you chanchan05 for your reply. The thing is though, I'm not trying to record videos - just trying to take a simple still photograph. Don't want sound - absolutely no need for sound, just a photograph. Why does Android insist that the microphone is switched on?

I already explained, the video capture and picture capture is connected in the app. Unlike other camera apps where it is separate modes. It's simply how the app was coded. If you insist on not turning it on, download another camera app.
