How to view more pictures at once

mwnitz

Lurker
My old Andriod used to have the option of viewing my stored pictures on my phone in a grid, so I can see a small thumbnail of many pictures at once. Then when I clicked on the individual thumbnail the pic would take up the entire screen. With my new phone I cannot figure out how to see this grid of thumbnails. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Which gallery are you using? Which OS version? My gallery does this automatically, but I prefer the app "Quick Pic"

I am using Andriod Version 2.3.5 Is this the OS?

Aha! I see that if I click on the Gallery app I see the grid. On my old Android (Incredible 2 by HTC) I woul dsee the grid of pics from the camera app. I would simply click on the icon on the lower left of the screen and see the grid. With the new Android when I click on the icon it only show one pic at a time. I did not have to go into another app called gallery to see it. Is there a way to make my new phone act like the old one, or do I always have to click on the Gallery app? Thanks.

Yes, 2.3.5 is your operating system (Gingerbread...).

I am using ICS on my tablet and phone. From the camera app, when I tap on the picture (last one taken), it enlarges the picture for me, and icons appear at bottom of screen. I tap on the "picture" icon, and it gives me a choice of "Quick Pic" or "Gallery". You should just have gallery....When I tap "gallery", it enlarges the photo, and thumbnails of the photos on there appear in a scroll formation along bottom bar. Not a grid. I will Chen on my OG Droid (running 2.3.4) when I get home, as well as daughters phone running a Gingerbread stock....

Sorry I couldn't help more....

Thanks for helping me so far, Sherri.

I am definitely missing something on my phone. From the camera app I tap on the "picture" icon in the lower left part of the screen which is a small thumbnail of the last pic. I get no choice for anything. It simply shows me the last pic taken and it takes up all of the screen. It allows me to scroll to the right to see another pic, but that's it. I have to leave the camera app, then go to Gallery in the applications area in order to see the thumbnails. It is quite inconvenient when taking a few pics and trying to see them at once quickly.

I tried this on my OG Droid. It is rooted, and running Gingerbread. However, I do have a custom ROM on there, but OS is 2.3.7

When I tap camera, and tap the last picture taken, I am given the choice of "gallery" or "quick pic". If I choose "gallery", it opens the picture in gallery screen mode, where I can "swipe" to see other pictures. If I tap on screen, at top left, there is a "picture" icon. Tapping that opens the gallery in the format you are used to.

On my daughters Stratosphere, running 2.3.5 (un-rooted, totally stock) when I open camera and tap last picture taken, it opens full screen, with camera scroll bar (all pictures that she can scroll through) on the bottom. No grid unless she goes in through "gallery" app.

I am hoping someone with your model phone helps out....

You may want to install the app "Smart Taskbar". It makes it unnecessary to leave camera to open gallery. Been using it since it came out. On all my androids.
