How Very Non-Mac Like

I am amazed that it was designed and assembled in the United States. I like that the enclosure is machined aluminum. USB 3 and Gigabit Ethernet is a good idea.

I will admit... I really, really want one of these. And I normally avoid Mac for desktop applications like the plague.

Looks OK.

Still a MAC, though and since I'm an IT pro, it's virtually useless to me as next to nothing runs on it .. unless I add windows :(

Assembled is the main word here, but yes they have been talking about it forever.

While I am not a Mac fan I do trade their stock a lot, so you hear the news of the company constantly. I do like the idea, but I am waiting to see how well that tower actually cools. GPUs produce a lot of heat when they are being worked and if someone is using all this for something, I can see that one fan having to work its butt off, but we will see.

So you are incapable of supporting the Mac? I think if your job is MS-centric, you should avoid Apple. That said, lots of folks use Apple and there are many qualified people to support them.

I was simply taken aback when I saw it. I really want to see one in person.

I wonder who came up with the concept?

I saw one of those Dyson hand dryers in the mall last week. Lots of air volume from such a smaller device. My guess is the Apple fan does the job.

Spotted on the NYC subway. A viral marketing and product awareness campaign?

I don't do support - I'm strictly software.

I've worked in IT for 30 years, on four continents, with quite a few of the biggest corporations in the world using a wide variety of software and hardware running a variety of O/Ss, but I have never worked on an Apple computer. Hardly ever seen one in a corporate IT department.

Mostly, this is because most corporate software don't have a version for Apple - because no-one has had Apple computers in corporations. Maybe that will change with more and more corporate systems moving to browsers and VMs becoming more prevalent - though those same factors would tend to steer sensible types away from over-priced, high end desktops - but there's not much sign of it so far.
