HP Slate 7 won't charge

i have had this tablet for over a month now, and have recently found out that it won't charge. What happened was that the charger that came with it broke in half soon after purchase. Then I tried a universal charger that works with my kindle 4 and phone (Samsung galaxy Y)
it fitted in the slot but after one hour it had not charged at all and I could not turn it on.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
 
Hello and welcome to AndroidForums.com. You best bet would be to purchase another charger from HP. It may require more output than your universal charger can provide. My HP Touchpad uses a charger rated at 2A output. Compare the specs of the broken charger with the universal one.
