HSPA+ in dayton,ohio

ive been using various htc devices on t mobiles $30 monthly 4g plan. most recent has been an at&t branded one XL,since s off was finally availble. its been stuck on edge data since ive been using it.

a couple months ago,i spotted HSPA+ on my international one X in a coupl.e spots in beavercreek. never did see them again on the the AT&T version.

today i popped my sim back into the international one x for S&Gs and was greeted with this:

HSPA+ at my house? sayyyyy whaaaaaa??

did a few speed tests and getting 5-6 mbps down consistently. got a best of this in a dozen or so tests:

im pretty excited. this may sway me to get the developer edition of the One instead of t mobiles version,if this signal remains consistent for a few days :D

what i cant figure out,is why the HOXL wont pick it up. ive only tried a couple stock(rooted) roms, but no hspa love so far. i put the sim back in,and for a brief moment when i fired the one XL back up,i had a 4g icon :smokingsomb:

it was quickly replaced my the dreaded E icon instead. sim back in the one X,3g/H still working fine. tried tweeking the apn settings,im about to try a couple of custom roms. see what happens :)

I was looking to get T-mobile and i reside in dayton ohio. Do they have hspa+42 ? It looks like LTE is coming to dayton this month but since i am on the Nexus 4 there is no LTE radio readily available without rooting and modifying.

yes, there is hspa+ here. my international one picks it up. my t mobile branded one has been showing 4G LTE off and on the last few days. i hope theyre still getting things working and bugs worked out,as download speeds have been terrible

ive gotten as high as 14mbps down. typically its more like the screenshot above-10-12. the 1900 band doesnt seem to be real stable here yet,and i see alot of variance depending where i am.

speedtests on LTE have only been 7-8ish,and as low as 600kbps down  i got a best of around 14 mbps down, and a couple 10-12s. alot of times i seem to get a better upload than download speed

I get similar speeds as Scotty on my HTC Amaze 4G. Also, my Galaxy Note LTE (unlocked AT&T phone) gets great speeds (10-14 mbps down) on my Tmobile sim.
