HTC 10 Crashing

Hey Everyone, Just got my HTC 10 - set up went smoothly but it's constantly freezing and crashing. I'm wondering if others are having the same problem or if my unit is defective. I'm doing a Reset as I type this, hopefully, the crashes will stop. Let me know if you're seeing the same thing!

Thanks.

The only thing I've come across so far was caused by an app I installed & I found the workaround to make everything O-TAY :thumbsupdroid: :

I use the app Ultimate Rotation Control:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate_license&hl=en

Long story short, you can customize rotation/orientation on a per-app basis.
If you do this, the camera app orientation needs to be set to Auto (for rotation orientation).
Anything else & you'll get nothing but a black screen when opening the camera app.

Also,if you choose to not use the per app option, the camera app will work as intended.
I was freaking out at 1st,being a brand new phone, even though an exchange,if need be,would be painless enough.

Safe Mode is your friend, that's how I was able to quickly determine the cause of my issues.
There's a good chance your crashing/issues are caused by an app you've installed, give Safe Mode a shot & see what turns up:

Mine is very laggy when it first starts up (and the start-up jingle stutters too), but after a minute or so it's fine.

Anyone else had this?

@ Kolio: Thanks so much for the tip about Ultimate Rotation Control. I noticed that all I got was a black screen when I turned on the camera, and had no idea why. I got around it by hitting the power button twice. Totally forgot about Rotation Control! Well, I applied your fix and the camera is working just as it should, no workaround needed. :-)

yep- same issue here. had the phone brand new for now 35 days. it started 2 days ago, whereby the handset just reboots without warning and then asks to send an error report once it has restarted. very frustrating for a brand new handset. the guy in store thinks its a faulty battery. needs to be sent to HTC for repair which takes 2 weeks.. great. just what you want from a new phone!!

Wow, sorry to hear it! But it does happen. If you have *any* other issues you should go straight to HTC and get a new handset through the protection (ut-oh or whatever) plan. You may have a lemon, which is unfortunate but does happen.

I had the phone notify me of an unexpected reboot once in maybe a week of ownership, and the startup animation is definitely laggy, but other than that no stability or performance issues.
