HTC clock/weather app - how to update automaticly?

over the last few days my weather hasnt been showing so i read that if i remove it off the screen then reboot then add it again it will work , but it only works for a couple of ours.
after messing around with it for a bit i found the menu to update automaticly but it is greyed out and i cant tick it.
any ideas how to fix my weather problem?

Not sure it will work but have you checked your location setting? GO to menu, settings, location...and check to see you have it set to "use wireless networks".

it was set correctly but the problem seems to have fixed itself?
