HTC Desire Facebook app

I downloaded the facebook app shortly after getting my HTC Desire, has always worked properly, but the last couple of weeks it keeps giving me this message saying "Cannot retrieve the notifications, Please try again later [connection reset by peer]" and shows no notifications in the app itself in the notification area, or in the top bar when i get messages and stuff, i've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, but still does it.

Go to Accounts and Sync and check if Facebook is being sync'ed. Check if you got Background data and autosync enabled. Check everyone of your sync accounts if they are syncing or if something stopped. If something stopped, refresh the sync by pressing Sync Now.
