I have a htc desire.. Screen locked. I need to get into google account to unlock. Don't know user name or password.. Anyway around ths please?

You have to wipe the phone:
1. Turn your desire off, Now hold the volume down and power button in to boot into hboot.
2. Now use the volume button to navigate to boot recovery and select it by pressing the trackpad button.
Use to volume button to select wipe/ hard reset (I can't remeber the exact term) and select it with power button
Wait
It should reboot as a clean phone with no accounts set up.

If it's the stock recovery (black screen with a red triangle) there's a trick to get the menu on that - power and volume up once you have that screen showing I think (it's been a long time).
This will erase all apps and data, but I'm afraid that if you don't know the gmail address and password there is no other way. If there were, then the lock would be useless as a security feature, because any thief could use that method to access all of the data on a stolen phone.
