htc desire upgrade... wat will i lose?

so the upgrade rumours are starting again...

IF they are to be true, wen prompted for the upgrade what will actually happen..

will it restore the phone to essentially factory settings but with the new froyo rom?

will i lose contacts/messages/calender/apps/games/etc etc

or will these all be stored in the backup of the desire and then when it reboots it will say "backup found want to restore?"

i did a factory reset not long ago thinking it would fix the fb problem... which is solved now.. and the phone prmpted me for the backup..

Apparently (according to the upgrade statemenst recently coming from htc) nothing will be lost. I'll still be backing up beforehand though.
