My HTC Desire was working fine yesterday - battery showing very low - obviously ran out during the night and now is as dead as a dodo. No charging happening. Tried swapping batteries with my partners - my battery not working in his and his not working in mine - what the heck is happening? Answers please.
 
It sounds like you may have overdischarged your battery. If it is an old battery (over a year) they can be at risk to do that.

Your best bet is to try putting a fresh battery in it, and see if you can get the phone to reboot. You may want to take it to your carrier's local store and have them try to revive it.

You should try to avoid letting any battery go all the way to 0 operating the phone. It weakens them over time and shortens the service life of the battery.

If your battery is over 12 months old, replace it with a new one if they are able to reboot your phone.
