I am unable to load Uber app. "uncompatible with device" android 2.3.5 is there a common fix?

Looks like it requires Android 4.0+, so it won't work on 2.3/Gingerbread.

Are you able to use other taxi apps? EasyTaxi will work with 2.3.5 if you can use that app:
