HTC EVO Exchange GAL Search

Does anyone know when you are using ActiveSync in an Exchange enviroment, if you can have a contact search default to the Global Address List, (they call it Company Directory) first, instead of defaulting to the loacal contacts on the phone? As it is you have to select Company Directory, then do your search.
