I hate buying apps as much as anyone, but after trying every method possible to get my YC A300 headset adapter to work on my G1, I found toggleheadset2 in the app store. It didn't show it installed in the app window, but when I added it to the home screen, it worked like a charm. Toggle it on, plug in some earbuds, and enjoy.
