I just bought an htc hero s from us cellular a few hours ago and the signal has problems. When it says 3G it has either no bars or one or two. It also sometime vows down from 3G and say it's connected to 1x and I don't know what that means. Do you guys have any way to fix this or have any of you had this problem. By the way the other phones in my house have five bars and 3G and the signal on the hero s does not get any better any where I go.

1X means 2G if you Google it you will find that there is a signal issue with this device. Try holding it around the top and you will have great signal but hold it naturally or anywhere on the bottom half of the device and watch your signal drop. Essentially the device is therefore defective.
