Help htc hotspot shutsdown laptop

When I use my htc one xl as a hotspot for my Toshiba laptop, my laptop comes up with a blue screen and shutsdown! weird. I could use it fine with my htc desire. Also, it doesn't detect my cars bluetooth. Please any suggestions apart from flushing it?

Could you give us some info on your laptop like OS, what is says on the bluescreen etc...

It sounds rather random that connecting to a hotspot could shutdown you're laptop...

Does it happen every time? Have you tried booting in safe mode with networking then connecting to see if it does the same thing?
