I was thinking the other day, on my own in the woods with some magezine that had hardcore.........................Phone porn LMAO. Anyway with all the apps we android users have downloaded to our phones, what happens when they need to be restored to factory settings. Everything will be lost. So how do we download the apps we have had before resetting the phone, for one I cant remember what apps I have downloaded. Is there program like itunes that saves your apps, photo's, and music in one place? Or is that what HTC Sense does? when its up and running.

Cheers

Actually only paid apps will be linked to your account. There are apps for rooted and non rooted phones that save your apps or save your list of apps.

If you head to the market website and hit My Account that lists all the apps linked to your account. The paid apps will follow you across multiple devices, but if you factory reset, any app you had installed on that specific device before the reset will re download itself when linked back to the same gmail account.

That's never happened after I reset my phone. Nothing automatically downloads and I've only seen my paid apps. Interesting

It's happened every time for me, strange.

Are you adding the gmail account then heading to the market straight away, or just letting it do it's thing? I've heard reports of apps not downloading if you access the market before the handset has completed its initial sync. I can't 100% confirm though.

It really doesn't matter to me too much, I'm rooted and use titanium backup for all my apps and data. I realized I was replying to a 6 month old thread
