HTC inspire blank screen

I have an HTC inspire and I repair cell phones for friends and family and have repaired HTC's before. I have put 3 different digitizers and lcds on this phone but all are black. If I hold it under a light the phone comes on and boots to home screen. But the touch does not work for me go further. The screens are from different distributors from the east coast of US to the West coast of US. And this last one is an OEM original part. Why is the back light and digitizers not working?

My guess is that one of the connections is either not seated properly, like the ribbon isn't making contact, or the contact itself is broken. The first one was my issue with my old Droid X.
