HTC M10 voice mail ICON

Help - I've recently upgraded from a HTC M8 to a HTC 10. When somebody leaves a voicemail i no longer get the icon at the top of the phone alerting me that i have a message waiting. I do have notification in the phone book saying missed call but no indication of a message.

I'm still using the same sim card and have been in touch with HTC who tell me its to do with the carrier (Vodaphone). The carrier tells me the problem is with the phone HTC.

I had a similar issue. My solution ended up being downloading the voicemail app from my carrier. After that I could check voicemails, without having to dial the number, and the notification went away.
