HTC M8 no longer sends video

LinCC

Lurker
When I first go this phone, I could easily send a video as long as a minute with no trouble. NOW, if it's more than 15 econds, the video file is not only too large to send by text, but by email as well. I have put it on the lowest setting for video on this phone but to no avail. I'm sick of it, as the world NEEDS to know how cute my dog is, but I am unable to provide video proof of how she's 200% better than everyone else.

Whats going on?
I use verizon, and quite frankly I'm ready to switch back to the iphone as I am moving to Russia in three weeks and (call it a hunch) feel that my parents and siblings *might* want video proof that I'm alive and well. But, alas, anything over ten seconds is apparently over 25 mb and *too* much for either email or text.

Camera, settings, video quality, dial it down from 1080p.

You may have had a lower setting before that got lost.

1080p is going create large files quickly.

The video bit stream is variable, so how much movement and how much light will affect final file size.

In general 720p is half the file size of 1080p, and you can go lower and still get excellent quality with much better file efficiency.

Hope this helps. :)

Btw, don't know if this interests you or not - you can upload your full hd videos to YouTube, make them private, give them permission, and just text them the link.

Plus you can have YouTube apply its automatic image stabilization - not a bad deal for free.
