Help htc m8 text crash

[Android Question]

I have an htc m8 and my texting app is going haywire, it started with typing a text being delayed in the text window a couple intermittently a couple of weeks ago and has progressed to text app lockup until a restart then my entire text log of ALL texts being zapped, showing zero texts, i have downloaded sms restore and backup AFTER this all started to occur, so i dont believe it to be that app not sms.

Hold volume down while powering on until you see the FASTBOOT or HBOOT menu.

Navigate to RECOVERY from HBOOT - navigation instructions will be on screen.

In RECOVERY, clear (erase, wipe, I forgot the exact language) cache.

You won't lose any data.

Reboot System from there.

Then main settings, Apps, All, and clear cache on Messages.
