Android Question

I'm trying to connect my HTC One to any PC and it can't be recognized. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers as suggested on other forums, but it still doesn't appear as an accessible drive.

It appears as an unknown device on the computer and when I trouble shoot I get this message:

The device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resource.

Any help? All I want to do is copy some music..

It won't appear as a USB storage drive because Android 4 onwards does not support that. It should appear as an MTP device though (Media Transfer Protocol) and since MTP is a Microsoft protocol you'd not expect that to be a problem with Windows. I'd have expected that installing HTC Sync Manager would be sufficient, but I'm not a Windows user myself.

A search on that error message came up with a few results - this page has quite a lot of suggestions. Have you tried the simplest thing though: using a different USB port, or a different cable? If you are using a USB hub try a socket that's on the PC.

If you can't get it talking you could use something like WiFi File Explorer or Airdroid to copy the files over a WiFi network, but obviously that's more of a hassle.
