Help htc one red triangle and exclamation mark phone turning on and off

i did the most recent update after i did it my phone showed a red triangle and exclamation mark I've tried factory reset and it will turn on and just go black then show the red triangle again

i hadn't modified it at all

So i can help you better; what "one" variant are you having issues with? (m7 , m8, etc)

edit: are you able to get into the bootloader at all?

htc one the normal one and yeh I'm on boot loader although its locked

if a factory reset from bootloader/recovery did not work for you - i would grab a RUU for the one and just completely reflash the stock firmware. You can find an entire collection of RUU's over at xda :

thanks but i have no idea what a RUU is or which to pick what to etc I'm on mac if that makes a difference?

RUU (Rom update utility) is a program that is used to install stock firmware for HTC devices. If you have access to a windows pc that would be ideal. Otherwise; If you have the android sdk you can use the decrypted zip file from the RUU and flash it via fastboot.
