HTC One S vs SGIII

I am wondering what you guys think would be the better phone. I was thinking of buying the HTC One S without a contract and just going on the monthly plans, but today I saw that tmobile was getting the SGIII. Which one should I get??

What do you want from a phone?

The S3 is more powerful, has a bigger, higher resolution display, more storage, expandable storage, and a higher-capacity, replaceable battery. The One S is smaller, less expensive, you may prefer the style. And then there's the question of whether you prefer HTC or Samsung's software (Sense vs Touchwiz).

But it's a matter of what you need. You may think the larger display of the S3 is a clear win, or you may think the phone is just too large. You may think that the One S's storage (16GB, I think about 10GB available for media, non-expandable) is fine for you, or it might be too small and rule the phone out completely. Or you may think that either would work for you, in which case I'd suggest having a look at both for real and deciding which you'd prefer.

I like everything about the htc one s but the sg3 is the "iphone killer" and the htc one s is supposedly the mid-level phone. My thought process is if im going to waste 500+ on a phone it might as well be the best one, but if there isnt much difference between the two i might as well save some money and go for the one s

For me, there were several deciding factors. One is the style. I really like how thin the one s is. As far as the screen size goes, the 4.3" on the one s was just a better fit in my hands. I've got to do a lot of one hands operation with my phone and the s3 just wouldn't allow for that in real world situations. Yes, the s3 has a better screen, but the one s is no slouch in that department. I've found the quality of the display to be plenty high for me. Another thing is the fact that I've had three other HTC phones, and have yet to have any real problems. The one Samsung that I did have was one problem after another. As far as the storage goes, I just don't need it. You get a free 25gig account with dropbox to store all your files that won't fit on your phone, and you can access dropbox right from your phone, so that's not an issue with me. The battery is something I have yet to experience issues with. I have a charger at home, in my truck, and at work. Quite honestly, I've been very impressed with the battery life.
Overall, I've been extremely happy with my decision to go with the one s. However, there's no doubt the s3 is a superior phone in many ways.

I will say this turboranger91 has a point about the size. My brother has the at&t version of the one x which is roughly the same size as the the gs3, and it was an session of thumb yoga to maneuver around that screen. Dont get me wrong the gs3 has a lot to offer as far as the bigger screen, sd slot and removable battery. However i think ive hit my limit of screen size. And although i would really kill to have an sd slot on the one s i have been managing with the 10 gb of on board and drop box, if anything its forced me to be more organized with my files.

Bigger may not be better, Your best bet would be to really get a feel for the size of both by playing with it at the store. The other thing is also important SENSE or TOUCHWIZ which i call touchcrap. It really does make a difference in your experience unless you plan to root and flash a rom.
