Htc One V or Htc Evo V 4g from Virgin Mobile?

Well, the Htc One V has some features the Htc Evo lacks and vice versa. Which phone do you recommend for me to buy? Or which one is better for the price? I know the Htc Evo is kind of old and stuff, or do any of you know if i should way for a future and better phone?

Currently using Virgin Mobile
 
The best advice I can give you is to go to google and look up the specs for both phones. Try to determine which features you want/like. Go to Youtube and look at the hundreds of videos for either phone.

Do you need 3D video shooting? No? What is the point in buying the EVO then?
Yes? Then get the EVO.

Do you need 4G? Yes? Evo
No? One V

Price? 300? EVO
200? One V

The One V does have the benefit of being a brand new device whereas the EVO is about a year old already.
 
Out of the two I would go with the EVO.. Its just plain got better specs. 3D is a gimmick, but everything else on the phone is pretty good (better than the ONE V)

HTC Sense 4.0
ICS
1GHz single core CPU
512MB RAM
3.7" screen


EVO V
Sense 3.6
ICS
1.2ghz processor ( Dual core)
1GB RAm(?)
4.3" screen


Newer isnt better. The One V is the budget phone of the one series.
 
I'm seriously stuck between these 2 phones. Evo or One? Sigh. I want Beats Audio, but also a dual core processor. I want cheap, but I want no freezing.

Beats isn't anything to write home about. Don't let that affect your decision. All it is on phones (and mine has it too) is an equalizer.

I will agree im happy with my Evo V, however i wish it had the camera app from sense 4.0
I dont care much about beats audio but i suppose it would be nice.
And i wont lie, the one v's aluminum construction sounds sexy :O
 
Yep. Just how Dr. Dre thinks how music should sound. I prefer DSP Manager and increase the bass. Sounds really good on Skull Candy ear buds.
 
I'm also deciding between the phones. I hate the back design and bulkiness of the Evo but the One is so much slower with only one core and no 4G. Ultimately, it's a question over form or function.

I'm also considering returning my Evo for the One. Speaking from experience though, a 1 ghz single-core CPU isn't anything to sneeze at . If you're judging purely from a benchmark perspective, well, you're going to get lower scores, but in the real world, unless you're using youre phone for a lot of gaming, you really won't feel the difference.
 
dont go for the evo 4g if you plan to call/text regularly. it has an unfixable radio error issue that has plagued many users since its launch (see forum). hardware specs dont matter much if the phone is unreliable and gives you frustration. i returned my evo for the one v. by next year virgin will come out with an even more powerful smartphone and people will dump their $300 evo 4g anyway

Which is why I am looking to return the Evo myself...

So, how much performance difference do YOU see?
 
the one v's screen transitions are not as smooth and apps open a little slower, but after awhile it is not noticeable and you get used to it. in my honest opinion, the one v has a better and faster camera, faster youtube streaming, slightly better call quality, and better texting (if you typed more than 2 lines on the evo, the dictionary would block the 3rd line). battery life is about the same. these are my real life observations and not based on scientific benchmarks

Are you seeing any signs of the errors that the Evo V is getting? Or maybe the same types of signal fluctuation?
 
i do notice signal fluctuations with the one v. i feel that htc does not make the best phones. i have not had any problems making outgoing calls or texts. i think i only missed 2 calls (someone called and it went straight to voicemail) so far, compared with regular incoming/outgoing call and text issues with the evo 4g.
 
there is ways around the radio issue if you S-off your phone and follow the fix everything thread by leslie and my evo s-off radio thread you can easily improve your radio
