HTC One vs 4G LTE

I had dropped and cracked my phone and the Bestbuy replacement I got had physical issues. Finally I got store credit for original price to purchase a new phone.

I can not decide to stick with 4G LTE or upgrade to One. I played with One in the store for a while.

The little nitpick items that keep me from switching
No external storage (need extra cable to attach a thumb drive).
No menu button (I dont think I will do hacks to get HTC button to act like one). It seems its a little inconvenience at some points.
Smart dial / recent call list is slightly different. You can only see the last call, you need to swipe to the call history tab.
Can not totally remove/turnoff blink feed.
Camera had this light streaks in my trial in store similar to the night picture in the forum

Has anyone done the switch and how is your experience?

Also I heard that HTC starting rolling out 4.2.2 and Sense 5 to international customers, and US providers should get the updates in August/September time frame. Has anyone read anything about this?

Hi berkin, and welcome to AF :)

You should visit the One forum here to find out more about that one. Some of the things you mention are easy to fix without root, or already fixed in the 4.22 update:

Fixed in 4.22 - long press of the home button can be set to act as a menu button. No hacks needed.
Smart dial / recent call list is slightly different. You can only see the last call, you need to swipe to the call history tab.
Can not totally remove/turnoff blink feed.
But you can use a 3rd party launcher, in which case no Blink.

No problems here. Any phone can get a dirty lens, and store display models must be more vulnerable (many people handling them).

The lens cover isn't recessed by much at all, but if you use a case that goes away.

There's a thread about US updates over in the One forum. Many other places have already got 4.22 (I'm running it myself).
