Help htc one x restarting

My friend gifted me htc one x. I don't know where he brought it from. It was working fine but after I updated my android version, the mobile kept restarting. What could be the reason and what is the solution. Please suggest me in detail beacuse am poor in all those technology.

Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your having trouble with the htc . You question about the constant rebooted . Have a quick question . After updated the device software ,DID YOU DO A FACTORY RESET . This will reset all data from old software and allow the new updates to work at peak performance . Aka the best

Thank you very much for the response. Ya I have tried to factory reset but still it is not work. Please suggest me what to do further.

Hmmmmm seems that you got this device as a gift. Question is was the device ever unlocked . You will say ???? You don't know . To correct this problem is to find the correct ruu . Is the device rooted or moded in any way .

am sorry to have very low knowledge about all those things.please bear it with me. how do i know if the device was ever unlocked and how do i find correct ruu. how to find if device was rooted or moded.

Well who is your phone carrier. To find out about if rooted just look at the about phone . And see if it say rom build or mod and a date . .but now this can be tricky cause the phone may have been rooted and never had the correct os put back . I think you need to go to your family or friend and ask maybe he has a fix to apply

Head to Settings -> About -> Software Information.

What is your Android Version & Software Number please?

When you've done that, turn the phone off completely, then hold volume down and power to turn it back on again. You should see a screen with 3 skateboarding androids at the bottom, at the top of the screen, does it say unlocked?

it shows after i pressed volume down + power

Despite being S-OFF, you've never been rooted by the looks of things.

You can try flashing an RUU, this is basically an exe, run from your PC that completely wipes the phone clean and installs the OS from scratch.

Gimme a second and I'll get you a link. :)

thank you very much for the link but am confused which link should i download there are lots of links. which one will be the correct ruu for my phone.??

You're S-OFF, you can technically pick any. :)

RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.12_Radio_2.1204.127.19_release_271851_signed.exe

RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe

RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe

Any of those 3 will be your safest bet though.
