HTC ONE X - Streaming Audio - .pls music file

Dear All,
Hope I have not put this in the wrong place, please excuse me as am new to the board.

I have the HTC One X - and I run a radio station called substandard FM (you can find it first in Google just search for "Sub Standard FM" - There is a button on the page with headphones on it, which links to a live Shoutcast stream (.PLS file) - and it works fine on PC, iPhone etc.

However I have downloaded everything I found suggested online to 'manage' the .pls stream in the browser etc, and just cannot get anything, even VLC, to recognize the audio stream, and am going round in circles!

PLEASE can anyone suggest why the phone won't play Shoutcast - I did install one AP called 'A ONLINE RADIO' and it came back saying that there was no connection, however my friend just connected at the same time, on the iPhone 4s. And I just did the same on my laptop!

It's really important that we get the steam the work, and wonder if it is because the phone is too new, or I am doing something wrong.

PLEASE help if you have any suggestions or similar problem!!

Just to say thanks for both responses. Will give a try now. It's odd because I am streaming out of Winamp on the PC with shoutcast and have Winamp purchased App on my HTC One X but always says no connection to server! I bet it would work if i connected Wifi but defeats the object, can I only get the stream with a strong 3G signal on the phone, too, I wonder. Which I do have, at home. I will try that link in the response, thanks so much for your quick replys.

Hi,

I am a little bit late posting on this but I was having the same issue (BBC Radio 4 for example).

If you open the downloaded .pls file in a text editor and copy the url in this file. If you then paste this url into a player that accepts streams, e.g. I am using VPlayer, the stream should play.
