HTC One X - what's next?

My son has the Desire HD and has been offered an upgrade by t-mobile in the UK. He doesn't want the One X as I've got one, so wants to wait for the next big one from HTC (I had the Desire, he had to have the HD :))

So -any gossip as to what is next, and more importantly when?

Don't really see the point of releasing a One X+ if the only difference is it's clocked at 1.7ghz, especially as we'll get Jelly Bean on the One X.

Aren't they just releasing that in the US on the T-Mobile network? They don't have our tegra 3 version as it's just a dual core with 4g you get over there. TM doesn't have a 4G network in the states so can see the point of releasing the One X+ in the US, I think it'll do quite well.

Just thinking about this, if their tegra 3 version is running JB with Sense 4 then maybe an update is just around the corner as the phone is almost the same version as ours (a little faster though)

Supposedly at&t is also getting a version ready! I do recall hearing that there are new quad core chips that are able to support LTE...Hmmm? That would sell me in 5 seconds.

I can't wait until our 4G network is up and running, everything takes a little longer here as our government is auctioning off the bandwidth, we could actually have it now as two of our carriers have merged freeing up loads of space but nothing has come of their bid to bring it out.

I think it is just different enough to be annoying. If the one x is the flagship, then it should be released and treated as such - these minor variants just cause confusion for a marginal advertising benefit.
These minor variants are also likely to get less support - both officially and unofficially (via xda for example). People that get this are likely to be disappointed when support withers on the vine.

Back on topic, not heard yet of any new flagship on the horizon. I'd rather the release cycle slowed anyway!

The only reason to upgrade from the One X the the X+ would be if there's a removable battery and SD slot. Other then that jellybean will be here soon

It is rather annoying how they just keep pushing out phones with minor bumps in specs.

I too would like the release cycle slowed a bit. Apple had the right idea.

It started out like that but due to competition they are forced to release newer devices. The only two that seem to stay on track is the Nexus and EVO.
