I left my One X+ on too long without charging it. When I picked it up to go out - it was off.
Put it on the car charger for about 20 mins then when I got out of the car, turned it on.
It went through the first splash screen OK then brought up the second splash but the jingle was cut short. It then brought up the third splash - the one that says "HTC One" in the middle and "Beats Audio" at the bottom... and that;'s it. Never goes past that point. Screen stays lit. LED red. Long hold of the power button just causes the red icons at the bottom of the screen to flash.
Eventually the small amount of power I'd got into it ran out and it went off again.
Since then I've had it on a mains charger for about half an hour and...
... no change.
I can get into the HBOOT/FASTBOOT menus by staarting it with the Vol button down. But then what? "Reboot" gets me right back to the stuck point. Power off works. But the next boot doesn't complete. I don't want to do a Factory Reset if I can avoid it - re-installinlg stuff is a pain in the mammaries.
I bought the phone s/h but I dn't think it had ever been used.
I only use what's on it out of the box (unless the first owner tinkered - how would I tell?) It seems entirely normal to me, just like my previous One-X but with more ram and red Home icons. It loads HTC sense (until today) and all just works. I have an Orange (EE) SIM in it - sometimes it pops a status icon telling me to run the SIM setup to put my Orange specific content on it. I ignore that - entirely don't need Orange's crap content.
What can I do at the boot menu that might be of help? Any documentation anywhere on what the various entries do? What does RECOVER do?
If I *do* have to Factory Reset it, is there any way I can back up content, settings, configs, etc., first? I know I can get my paid-or apps back from GPlay, but having to manually bring back the free ones, and re-do all my config... hate that!
