Hi all,
I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple weeks now but I've had no luck in my research.
Whenever I do anything that involves the HTC People app on my phone, it force closes. This includes opening the app, adding a contact from the phone or messages application, clicking on someone's picture to show more contact methods, clicking on the matched contacts suggestions thing, etc. The people app closes and I get an error message at the most 4 seconds after any of these actions that says,
"The application People (process com.android.htccontacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and there's a force close button below.
I've had Gmail, Facebook, Phone and Twitter contacts syncing for a while, but the problem only arose about three weeks ago.
I tried deleting the htc contact data in apps, I tried deleting other contact data, I tried removing Facebook and Twitter contact sync and disabling Gmail contact sync. None of those things helped at all.
Today I completely factory reset my phone and restored using myBackup (but no contact data restoration). This didn't even work.
Anyone have any ideas at all? I'll probably try calling Verizon or HTC tomorrow, but I don't know how much help they'll be. I can currently not add contacts to my phone at all or use the contacts app so it's pretty frustrating.
