HTC sense on the magic?

HTC Sense Interface Headed For The HTC Magic?

apparently HTC's CEO said, "HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices."
It would really be nice to have multi-touch and flash on my magic, not to mention the interface. I guess I'm probably getting my hopes of for nothing though. I don't see there ever being a way of changing roms that I would feel comfortable doing. I don't want to brick my phone. Anywho, just thought some of you might enjoy this news, enough though I believe there is already a way of getting the hero build to work on the G1..

I hope this helps.

No HTC Sense UI upgrade for “with Google” branded phones | Android Community

Seems that the Sense would not be available for HTC's releases which has "with Google". That means Europe Magic's are not available for the update.

IIRC, seems that the Magics in Asia are not "with Google".

How do you define "google branded"?

Is it by the Google-logo on the back of the phone, or the fact that it's "synced" with Google and my account (for use with Gmail and such), or something completely else?

I have a European (Swedish) HTC Magic: It doesn't say "Google" on the back (near the battery), so am I in the clear in that case (if it does work that way)?

Thanks!

well the hero rom has been ported to the magic with almost no problems whatsoever. apparently they hardly made changes meaning that all the widgets, flash, multitouch, gps, and the camera all work fine. The only problem they say they have is that loading the home screen can be a little slow due to a lack of ram but that's because they are using the vodaphone magic which doesn't have nearly as much ram as the rogers version. this is looking good. hopefully there will be an official release though. I don't want to have to try to root my phone. I'm on a 3 year contract and if I screw up my phone, I won't be able to afford a new one.
anywho, here's the video.

hopefully soon a non laggy port will be appearing at xda of the hero build without "issues" being present in the build without force closing and freezing

IMHO, i think the lag is mainly due from the lack of RAM in the "with Google" models. However, the specs of the HTC Magics without the "with google" are actually similar to Hero's spec.

yes, this is true. the rogers magic is almost identical to the hero. The only differences I can see are the camera and the 3.5mm jack.

my magic is running fatal1ty's v1.2 sense rom from xda devs, and there is NO lag, runs perfectly. GPS, Wifi, everything. do it! you won't regret it.
