Help HTC Sync Mannager "No phone connected"

Hey,
I bought an HTC Desire 601 today, and attempted to connect it to my computer to transfer my songs over. But apparently it's not connected.
I've tried turning firewall off, the internet tether and passthrough, as well as killing the Adb application in my task manager.
I just want my goddamn music.

You can take out the sd card and try that if it's not connecting for some reason (most computers have an sd card slot now). You just need an adapter for the micro sd. If your computer doesn't have a slot you can also buy a usb sd card reader fairly inexpensively.

did you make sure to set the phone to usb mass storage device (can't remember exactly what it says) on the phone once you plugged it in. Also make sure the cable you are using is not a "charge only" cable. I wasn't aware there were such cables until recently but apparently some only allow the passage of power and aren't wired to move data.
