Help HTC Sync update has messed things up!

Hi,

I updated my HTC Sync last week when prompted to by the program and now my PC wont recognise my phone and half the time it just crashes windows explorer

I worked out that if I turned of USB De-bugging it suddenly showed up and worked fine and have been doing this for the last week or so,

But this afternoon even that isn't working, It now shows up as the one X when I turn off the de-bugging but then when I try to open it windows explorer crashes again!

Also is there a way to turn of USB debugging permanently because it comes back on again every-time I connect my phone to a PC? Is that something I should not be thinking of doing?

Might be worth reporting the issue to HTC. I had mixed results from their support people, one time they were no help at all and basically told me, tough however another time they were excellent.
