HTC Sync

hi,
i'm having a helluva time syncing my HTC Sensation with Outlook using HTC Sync. the program seems really buggy, and about 4 our of 5 times it just flat out doesn't work. was able to get my calendar & contacts to the phone once or twice, but now the pc software gives error signs that it can't sync, if it recognizes the phone at all. when it does work, it takes forever. anyone have success with this? part of the reason i went with an HTC is because they supposedly sync w outlook right out of the box. i've lost my calendar twice on google, so i no longer trust the cloud. and i like outlook.
thanx in advance,
george

I gave up with it and now use MyPhoneExplorer. It just works.

Oh, and I also use Outlook on my local PC.

dave,
thanx for the tip. had a sneaking suspicion that i was going to have to find some other route. so does it also sync contacts? i went to their site, and the screenshots were in german:) i think it does, but just not sure. also, my phone wasn't listed in the support list, but i'd bet it'd be fine. just such a new model.
appreciate it,
george

I use it for calendar, contacts and files. With contacts it'll realise if you have contact sub-folders so you can keep separate lists, for whatever personal reasons.

They have a good forum at ... FJ Software :: Forum anzeigen - English section ... this is the English section! The main page is at ... FJ Software Development ... oh, I see what you mean about the German screenshots but don't worry. All comes up in English. Client for the PC and app on the phone.

As for your phone not being listed, I don't think that list gets updated very often. I have a Desire HD and that isn't mentioned but it worked first time on 2.2 and kept on working after the 2.3.3 upgrade.

Cheers

Dave

dave,
thanx again for the valuable and helpful info. will now give it a try. from your description, it sounds like exactly what i need. maybe HTC and other manufacturers should consider including it with their phones. in this day and age, there really isn't any reason to include sub-par software. shouldn't be so difficult to sync with any software, especially a standard like outlook.
will post back after i give MyPhone Explorer a shot. again, many thanx,
g

I can't understand why manufacturers can't provide a simple sync program. You just need to sync (for most people anyway!) contacts and maybe calendar (I reckon fewer people sync their calendar). But give control over direction and content. Simples.

I used Nokias for years and their sync app went downhill over time. Ovi suite is now a pile of poo!

TO be honest it would better for HTC to cut there losses and employ the developer of MPE!
