Htc vivid

I am a droid user that just switched from Verizon & a Droid (original) to AT&T and a HTC Vivid. I am trying to connect Motorola H17 Bluetooth but can't seem to get the Bluetooth to activate phone book, text, etc. loaded Moto and Vlage but everything requires me to manually use the phone. Looking any suggestions, forums, etc.
